Weekend Unplug: Take the kids to watch trains + lessons to share

It's time for the weekend unplug.  This week we took the kids over to Irondale at the Whistle Stop Cafe and let them watch trains.

While it doesn't sound that exciting it is for my kids.  They love trains, even my daughter enjoys watching down the line.

Tips:

1.  Take some snacks and water.

2. Keep track of the trains if they are a cargo, passenger etc.

3.  Don't forget to count the carts.

4.  Talk about the jobs of the engineer or conductor.

5.  Help your children learn the difference between train engines.

6.  Notice the signals and train safety.

7.  Don't forget to take photos and videos of your kids watching the action.

8.  I set an alarm when we go so the kids will know when it's time to go.

9.  Go at different times of the day and night for different conditions, dusk, afternoon sun, fog, night lights etc.
