Birmingham Museum of Art: Family Day Holi Festival Saturday, free

This weekend the Birmingham Museum of Art will host a fun family friendly event that will introduce your children to another culture while creating and learning at the same time.


EVENT: 'FAMILY DAY // HOLI FESTIVAL'

DATE: SATURDAY, MARCH 09, 2013 - 11:00 AM

DURATION: 4 HOURS

FREE // Red Mountain Sculpture Garden

The Museum celebrates Holi, the traditional Indian celebration of color! The program will include Indian dance and music as well as art activities, scavenger hunts, henna tattoo, Indian food (provided by Taj India), and lots of color!

11AM // Traditional Indian dance performances by local youth groups

12:30PM // Storytelling

1PM // Professional Indian Dance and Music with performances by The Auburn Indian Music Ensemble, Notinee Indian Dance Group, Sudha Raghuram, Aastha Gandhakwala, Natyanada Dance School and Company, and Nanda Sane Dance Group: Fushion Faction.

2PM // Celebrate Holi as it should be celebrated - with colors!
