Ringling Bros. Circus will transport animals to BJCC Tuesday, no animal walk

The Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus will be in Birmingham next week. Arriving Tuesday by train the group will make its way to the BJCC using animal transportation carts instead of the normal animal walk.
The animal walk uses Vanderbilt Road to make the journey from just north of Tarrant to the BJCC with area families watching elephants, zebras and horses march toward downtown. However officials with the circus confirmed they will be parking the train too far from the BJCC for the animals to make the journey this year.

Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus typically walks its animals from the train to the venue in each city its visits. Ringling Bros. has three circus units that tour throughout the United States and each unit has a herd unique to its tour.

Residents of Birmingham will have the opportunity to see all the animals starting Wednesday, Jan. 23 at 7:30pm when The Greatest Show On Earth opens at BJCC Arena.
