Ruffner Mountain hiring afternoon teacher, application details here

Ruffner Moutnain Nature Preserve needs an afterschool teacher two days a week. They posted the job opening on their Facebook page today.

Here is part of the description:

Ruffner Mountain Nature Preserve is looking for a creative, energetic, and fun person that is wanting hands-on experience to run SHEL (Sustainable Healthy Environmental Lifestyle) afterschool program twice a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays). Applicants currently enrolled in a teacher education program are preferred.

This afterschool program will serve a group of approximately twelve 6th and 7th graders from two area Birmingham City Schools. Students from one school will attend on Tuesdays, and those from the other school will attend Thursdays. SHEL Teacher must be available from 2 pm – 6 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays on the weeks when the SHEL program is in session. These weeks coincide with the Birmingham City School District calendar. SHEL Afterschool program will run a total of nine weeks during the the first semester of 2014. For all specific dates for when SHEL will be in session, email programs@ruffnermountain.org. Expected start date is September 30.
