We individual investors have all become market skittish since the recent huge recession and economic downturn. I retired in 2010 (yeah!). In 2010 and 2011 I did get a lot of it re-invested, even though it was rising the whole time. Therefore, what I am now trying to do, as I did back in 2010 and 2011, is to hedge my bet.

I have been since April 7, 2010. Hubby retired in July 2007. Then the Great Recession hit so I postponed for a few years. In 2010, my company was just preparing to do their first round of recession related layoffs. I’m retired! We found that we could afford it (Happy, happy days!). Lesson Two – Exit Smartly.
