Way back in 2008 I signed up for a Upromise account and then it sat unused for many years. Back in 2008, I was a mama to a toddler and infant, so a lot of things slipped my mind. It’s not going to pay the whole bill, but as we start navigating the college process with our girls, every dollar counts! Hello, 2020.

I use to have a local events and happenings blog when I lived in Austin from 2008 – 2010, I even use to run a Direct Sales blog back in 2007 and after a year, I sold it. I started this blog back in August of 2012 for the sole purpose of sharing coupons and deals and to show others how to save money in the process.

However he kindly reminds everyone that reducing your driving is the best way to save money on gas, as well as save the environment! Will the summer of 2011 be a repeat of 2008? Obviously, burning petroleum products is far worse for the environment than the energy created by our body’s metabolic process.

Since the 2008 recession, many people have rediscovered the savings, joys and health benefits of locally grown food – whether you have a backyard garden, participate in a community garden or shop at the local farmer’s market. It is healthier to use whole foods, than it is to use foods processed by freezing or canning.
