Owning a vacation rental has been a love-hate emotion for me. We planned our purchase in the heady days just prior to the recession of 2008/2009. Wouldn’t it be fun to have a place where our sons, their wives and our grandchildren could come together to play, visit and bond? Why we bought. Gather the family.

I do use cash mainly for transactions of $50 or less as I don’t like to carry around a lot of loot (except when on vacation)! In 2008-2009 when we had the credit crunch and recession, there was at least one day when stores were not accepting credit. Here are the reasons I use cash. Cash is almost universally accepted.
