As baby grows, we might turn back into fiendish savers – trying to get that retirement fund or college fund built up. As a young mom, I saved like mad – going to garage sales, thrift stores and accepting hand me downs on toys and clothing. The things that give us pleasure vary by temperament. Time of life.

I pick up a lot of them at garage sales for 25 cents to a $1. Much of the information in it is basic personal finance guidance (with a biblical twist). When I retired, I used this method to re-invest the proceeds from my company 401K (that I had rolled into an IRA). My copy has a copyright date of 2008.
