I have always thought that “Christmas in July was a catch phrase made up by department stores to sell things in the slow summer months. . Apparently, according to multiple sources such as The Holiday Spot website, Wikipedia and various responders on Google Answers there really are actual Christmas celebrations in July.

My Aunt, God rest her soul, saved Christmas paper and those silly little paper bows from year to year. Shop garage sales and thrift stores and estate sales. Christmas decorations, wrap, bows and ribbon all are continuous offerings at pretty much every garage sale, thrift store or estate sale I’ve ever shopped.

They kind of look like the ones for sale at Curious Country Creations. Plan ahead and hit garage sales, but especially estate sales. You can pick up beautiful decorations, wreaths, linens, trees and more at these sales. Of course, you could do what my aunt used to do, and save paper from one Christmas to the next!!
