I don't really time myself, but when the compost is crumbly and dark brown, I add it to the garden or flower beds. Last year, a pumpkin plant started growing out of the side of one of my bins. How I Compost: As you see above I have 2 bins. When I've stopped adding to a bin, it is supposed to "cure" for 4 weeks before you use.

Since we moved in, all we’ve really done is cut down a boatload of trees and planted a few flowers and bushes (with limited success – NC clay is really thwarting my efforts). Currently, my back yard is lush green weeds , surrounded by lush green-leafed trees that grow like weeds.
