Either pay bills immediately or put them in a To-Be-Paid file. If you are getting too many credit card offers, look inside and you should find a phone number to have your name removed from their data base. I don't get any credit card offers anymore. Invest in a shredder. Deal with mail immediately. Contain your paper.

Bills - Utility bills can be tossed the following month when you receive your next statement and it shows that the bill was paid, unless you need the bill for tax deduction purposes, then refer to Taxes below. Permanent home improvement bills should also be kept while you still own your home.
