I cried for days and we celebrated the occasion with a family cruise a few months later. I did read a few books that year on both subjects, but it was not an earth-shattering goal. The rest of the snowball went towards other things, such as a new-to-us vehicle, medical expenses, retirement contributions, and home repairs.

We celebrated both occasions with a family cruise that we paid for with cash. We also had some building repairs that we needed to cash flow. Once the time came, as a family, we decided on a cruise over Thanksgiving instead of Disney. Increase our emergency funds for the home & office to 3 – 6 months worth of expenses.
