My daughter lives in California and we talk regularly. My son and his family live in Montana. I had two older siblings, but my sister passed away in a car accident in 2000 and my brother passed away from MS in 2020 so now I’m an only child. I’m a 53-year-old mother of 2 (grown) and grandmother of 4. Wow, time flies.

I was up until 2:30am on Christmas Eve and my daughter and son-in-law were up until 3:30. My granddaughter laughed at her brother’s antics and then tried to consume the shiny wrapping paper. New shoes for me and my daughter and this for my son-in-law: He’s a big cheese fan, so only a vat of cheese will do!

The day starts/started with my mother or me or now my daughter getting up and stuffing the bird and getting it into the oven. Then my daughter required mashed potatoes. My sister-in-law requires rice and now my son-in-law requires macaroni and cheese. I can still picture it in my mind. My sister-in-law is neutral.

You know that my daughter, son-in-law, grandson and granddaughter and I all live together. She’ll move from one side of a room to another in the blink of an eye, to stuff whatever dog, cat or brother toy she can get into her mouth. When my daughter was a baby I don’t remember her requiring so many things!
