Be prepared to pay for lawyers fees to review the trust as well as accountant fees to make sure you satisfy the IRS! Be ready to have your asset sold by the charity so that it can be used to pay you the income as well as to fund their charitable endeavors. After they die, the remainder in the trust goes to the charity selected.

Well according to the bill’s sponsors, in the resolution presented to and passed by the 112 th Congress this March, we have a lot of issues to solve. Why do we need it? According to the resolution: Twenty-five.6 Share what you know and do with those around you to help the nation become more financially literate!

My sister-in-law and her husband had one that they used and rented out and indicated that it was doing well. I wanted a place for our family to gather – adult children and grandchildren along with us. That gave me the idea to start looking around for one too. Many well to do families have been counting on this as a way to pass along significant wealth to their next generations. You do the math, but my calculator shows that is $400K a year. That money has to come from somewhere and unfortunately we all just keep kicking it down the road to my grandchildren.
