This December has been a whirlwind of activity, while we tried to get to a lot of the special holiday markets, pop-ups, and other activities we usually miss. We had a friend in town and visited two dining spots that we rarely get to, and today we're headed to Peacock Lane, Portland's Christmas street. It's been awesome.

The festivities kick off this year on November 11th – expect Disney World to begin decorating for Christmas on this date. FYI: If you are heading to Florida a little later in December, Disney typically takes down their Christmas decorations shortly after the New Year.) Holiday Happenings at Magic Kingdom.

When you book one hotel night, you will get the second one for just $1. If you are having an early Christmas celebration or just have some early December travel planned, this is a great opportunity though! This is a great way to save and be able to add an extra day to your trip! The downside is that this offer is very limited.

The display is free to the public and is inside the beautifully decorated lobby of the hotel. Tours of historical homes decorated for Christmas. Christmas movie marathon night. Christmas kids shop.

The overlap between Halloween, autumn, and December holidays is really special. Between that and the Christmas decorations up throughout the Walt Disney Resort, this is a really lovely time to visit.
