While I like to shop at thrift stores, I have a hard time finding TALL length jeans for my 5’10 frame and I was in need of new jeans. It wasn’t all about me in November, I have a teenager and soon-to-be teenager and they both want clothes for Christmas. DSW might be my new favorite place to find shoes!

The article specifies that Garlick did not buy any birthday or Christmas presents for her children, but I’m sure that they got items from well-meaning relatives. They argue that the children will be teased as they grow up and will feel unloved because their parents got them homemade gifts rather than buying them new.

On Christmas eve, gangs of kids caroled from house to house. On Halloween we did a trick for our treat inside of a neighbors house, without our parents around and got homemade goodies to eat as a treat. Christmas was a one week event – between Dec 25 and Jan. Most food at the grocery store came from the USA.

I’m always amazed by the amount store tags I see on clothing and household item at thrift stores. Research the store’s return policy for unused purchases without a receipt if you don’t have it. I have a friend who sells cookies and candy during the Christmas and Easter holidays. What is your skill set?
