No kids = no money on candy = no candy wrappers in the landfill. No kids = no parties or haunted houses = money saved. We do put up decorations (ones I buy at garage sales or thrift stores and reuse each year). Tip # 2 Recycle/reuse costumes. Compost it by cutting it up and putting it on the pile.

Most people have computers these days and an email account, so send out digital invitations, to save on paper, ink and postage. Print them yourself to save money. Ask the guests to RSVP by phone or email to save paper and postage. This saves you having to do a big clean-up and possibly uses less water and power.

This family lives a Zero Waste lifestyle – meaning they REFUSE, reduce, reuse, and recycle almost everything. Thanks, Money Saving Mom ! I am in AWE. You can see an example of six months worth of trash in their home – it all fits in two hands. When I came across the Zero Waste Home blog I was captivated.
