As I was removed everything from the desk, I decided right then if it was trash and needed to be shredded, needed to be filed or put elsewhere, or donated. If you are getting too many credit card offers, look inside and you should find a phone number to have your name removed from their data base. Invest in a shredder.

Any bills for big purchases like jewelry, appliances, computers, etc, should be kept permanently for insurance and warranty purposes. Credit Card Statements - These can also be found online, so I'm not sure a paper copy is necessary, unless you need it for documentation for tax deductions, then see Taxes below.
