Then I moved to Connecticut which is where I first encountered lotteries. When I was a young adult in South Carolina, I had never heard of a lottery. There may have been lotteries, but I hadn’t heard of them, and I’m pretty sure there wasn’t one in SC. I remember playing a couple of times, but it was never a big thing.
