A few years back, I hit my all-time high by borrowing 126 books over the course of one year. Although my parents never specifically taught me about finances, they lived a frugal life by necessity. From early on, Alan and I knew we wanted to travel extensively throughout the United States over the course of our lifetime.

After many years with only odd jobs or jobs without many prospects, I have finally had the chance to build a career in my new home country, working in life science. Of course, due to my upbringing, I was used to getting along with little money. I paid about 400 USD for an online course. And music, especially classical music.
