Our daughter was accepted into the Disney College Program and will be checking in the first week of September. But that’s not all… my awesome husband TOTALLY surprised me with a CRUISE!!! So, we’ll be at Disney for 5 days and then head out to the Caribbean on September 8th. September 1st – My hubby comes home yay!!!

We sent our very last payment to my husband’s student loan in September 2019, the same month I turned 50. We celebrated both occasions with a family cruise that we paid for with cash. Once the time came, as a family, we decided on a cruise over Thanksgiving instead of Disney. If others could knock out debt, we could too.

I got a shellac manicure before our cruise in September and it completely ruined my nails. This was the first manicure I had gotten in years, and it reconfirmed (once again) that manicures are not for me. They are expensive and always chip after just a couple of days. Remember…a penny saved TRULY is a penny earned.

That was the year that we made the goal of paying off the last of our non-mortgage debts and we achieved it by September of that year. I cried for days and we celebrated the occasion with a family cruise a few months later. It was a momentous occasion that was many years in the making. But after that, our goals were not as specific.
