To many, working with a spouse would be too difficult, but our individual strengths and weaknesses complement each other and the arrangement has worked well. However a few years ago, we found ourselves with too much debt and not enough cash. Our business was doing well and it seemed like the right time for us to buy.

I’ve been an architect, day-care teacher to toddlers, and library clerk, but am currently a SAHM to a 14yo son and 9yo daughter. As an adult, it’s important to me to continue to be generous, as well as, provide financial security for myself and my family. After I became a mother, finances became much more complicated.

He has done well in life. Many years later, one of her daughter’s husbands helped her apply for it – just a few years before her death in her 80’s. Knowing about and utilizing this pension would have made my Mother-in-law’s life somewhat easier while she was growing up in that deceased Veteran’s household.
