This is the first year I started a Disney/vacation savings account of $25 a week. Also, since losing my Dad in November , I’ve been wanting to get back more often to help my step-mom. Here we go… Disney Trip 2012 – Total Savings Goal = $2555.35. We eat very light when we’re on the road.

We felt we didn’t have a choice, and we put the issue behind us. However, on November 1, 2016, we logged on to healthcare.gov to renew for 2017 and found premiums had doubled and the options were limited. We started using it in January 2017 and I wrote all about it, so I won’t rehash it all here.

While self-employment brought us a lot of flexibility and possibilities, we were on the hook for finding and buying our own health insurance. Due to its high costs , it became less a product that we used for our medical needs, and more of something that protected us from financial ruin over the years. Sleepless Nights.
