We bought a cheap old trampoline and enclosed the bottom with chicken wire as their run It has been a learning curve to take care of this much land, as well as the chickens and cows we’ve since added. In my free time I enjoy canning and preserving food (well, I enjoy the results of it, ha!), for anyone curious ? )

Sometimes it complicates things and can throw a wrench in a project or a something I am trying to achieve, sometimes it’s just a roundabout way of getting to the same outcome, and sometimes it serves me really well. I worked full-time throughout college and took a few internships. Because I did things a little differently.

I currently work part-time from home, mostly behind a computer. I never really figured out what I want to be when I grow up so I’ve done a lot of different things. I was always in debt, which has been a tremendous source of shame for me. Apply it toward debt. I’m 52. I almost always have a side gig going.

When my brother and I were growing up, our parents didn’t have much discretionary income. My dad was a blue-collar worker – a machine operator on the railroad who sometimes got laid off for periods of time in the winter. My mom cut coupons and sewed her own clothes and mine, as well. How did you get interested in saving money?

My mom expected both my brother and I to find employment when we reached the legal age of 15, and enforced it by having us pay for half of our school clothes (well, the ones we wanted. Time is a factor in high school, because teenagers will be in school all day. It’s like having a full-time job.
