Christmas was a one week event – between Dec 25 and Jan. Gasoline stations did not serve food, have coffee or provide bath rooms. Young men ran out to fill your tank, check your oil, try your tire pressure and wipe your windshield when you stopped for gas. You had to ask to be excused from the dinner table. Entertainment.
