WIS, WWA | Well, now I know

The Frugal Girl

What I Spent This week was definitely one of adjustment! Because I was definitely doing some fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants things this week. I’ve been out of school for the last two semesters, so I’d gotten kind of used to my carefree life. ? (Ok, Ok, well, not entirely carefree. But relatively speaking, yes.)

The Frugal Girl

so I’m definitely gonna be awake for way more than 24 hours in a row. Here’s hoping I have fewer delays than her in my efforts to leave Chicago today. that’s the ocean out there, viewed from the Maui airport window I did not sleep at all on my flights (HOW is a person supposed to sleep while sitting up??)

WIS, WWA | a tidy $100

The Frugal Girl

It definitely saved me from takeout. Tuesday I made a Dinnerly meal, which was Mediterranean beef pita pizzas: Zoe and I both liked these (sorta like an easy gyro), so I’ll probably put this meal idea into our rotation even if I don’t get it straight from Dinnerly. I also made these roasted carrots and I cut up some fruit.

Want to save money? Let go of the need for matching

The Frugal Girl

My free kitchen chairs don’t match each other, and they are definitely not the type of chairs that would have come with my table when it was new. But if you are willing to be patient, it definitely is possible to find cheap/free things that coordinate.

Five Frugal Things | post-Christmas

The Frugal Girl

Marie likes to quote, “What’s the definition of eternity? I made a ham and egg sandwich I used a leftover Christmas roll and some leftover ham (plus some sauce and spinach) and while yes, this made only a tiny dent in the ham, every little bit helps. ? Two people and a ham.”

WIS, WWA | all Safeway

The Frugal Girl

This is better than endless nights of eating out, but definitely not as frugal as an organized trip to Aldi. What I Spent So I went to pull together my grocery spending for the week and I realized that it’s all quick trips to Safeway. I spent $63 at Safeway, spread out between an embarrassing number of trips.

Two abandoned-house nightstand rehabs

The Frugal Girl

As with the other one, though, there’s definitely some veneer damage on the top. As with the pink version, you can definitely see some damage on the top after painting. I used my trusty Bosch orbital sander. (at at the time of this writing, it’s 25% off at Amazon!) It looked a whole lot cleaner after the sanding.
