We decided to re-label 10 empty wine bottles using a picture of an historical event for each decade of her life. I already had saved up a box full of wine bottles, in hopes of selling them at my next garage sale, so we didn’t have any cash outlay for those. As I looked around at what was available ideas started popping.

Hold a garage sale together. Make it an all day event by bringing lunch and planning a few non-swimming activities (such as a hike or a campfire with story telling or beach volleyball, etc). Set the yard up with booths and events and invite the neighbors over for a fun old fashioned carnival. Plan your own carnival.

Check your paper or local events board to see if any kid’s clothing swaps are happening in your area. Hit up fall garage sales. Even in the fall months, garage sales can still be found. Check your local paper or Craigslist for sales in your area advertising children’s clothing. It never hurts to ask!

Jewelry stores usually have excess inventory left over and no significant romantic events in January to get folks to buy, so you may find deals on diamonds after the holidays. Winter clothes. Many gyms and fitness classes offer free events for the public. Keep your eyes out for these events and incorporate them into your workout plan.
