I truly believe that family vacations are a necessity. When our kids were younger, we used to go camping at state parks, and they thought it was the best thing ever! Be sure to mention whether you are in the military, a teacher, a first responder, or AAA member. I’m sure he did it to save money, but as kids, we loved it.

years with no car (and two small kids!). I am so impressed by the amount of biking and walking she and her family do, especially since it’s the functional sort, to get yourself from point A to point B. My own kids were born in different time zones, too – one in MN, one in OH. We lived for 2.5 The freedom was amazing.

For 20 or so years I’ve been homeschooling my kids, and am now down to about 1 1/2 (one full-time homeschooler, and one doing College Credit Plus with some support). We also want to get our kids through college without them having loans to pay back, and we are 1 out of 4 on that so far! What’s your best frugal win?
