Get some shoe polish and shine up those old shoes, take them to a shoe repair shop to have the re-heeled or soled if they are worn down. This used to be a common occurrence with a shoe repair shop on every main street. Learn to hem and patch and sew on buttons to repair minor issues with clothing.

By far the best find of the day was the pair of Keen shoes (in the above picture) for my oldest daughter. Do used shoes gross you out? Me too, but these Keen''s were in great condition and were only $2.50, so I bought the shoes and simply washed them in hot water in the washing machine when I got home. No THANK YOU! Thrifting'

It needed to be altered to fit in some way, but I can't sew. I was a big Tori fan back in the day and still really enjoy her first few albums, but her recent albums don't do anything for me and honestly, her new face freaks me out. Got any other ideas for cutting up a tee that don't involved sewing? It was huge. An XL maybe?

A back up way to generate my own electricity (generator or solar panels with batteries) – to power my refrigerator/freezer and my wood stove fan. Extra clothes & shoes. Sewing kit. A water filter to use in case I can’t boil. A way to strike a fire without a lighter. Some means of personal protection.
