In Huffington Post article Boomers Give New Meaning To Spoiling The Grandkids author Linda Stern reported: “Roughly 36 percent of the grandparents surveyed by AARP said “spoiling (grand)children by buying them too much” was a part of a grandparent’s financial role.”. It’s my grandkid!”.

My differing perspectives on vacation rental finances. My Grandkids have grown up visiting the lake condo and love it. Wouldn’t it be fun to have a place where our sons, their wives and our grandchildren could come together to play, visit and bond? All of the above reasons were valid, and actually continue to be valid.

We could well afford the cost with no foreseeable problem with our own finances now or at any time in the future. One son is trying to rebuild finances after an expensive year. Our ideas of value differ. I was raised in a family that went on a two week road trip every year, no matter what.

Where ever your child is on the learning continuum – here are some ideas on ways to teach personal finance without spending (much) extra time specifically on it. My grandkids were 6 and 3 and they really got into this! Play board and online games that teach money or finance or business concepts. Food Related. In the Car.

We were preparing to go out of town to the grandkids house the next morning. Take Care Of Finances. It was a Thursday night, the 20 th of December 2012. However, one of the presents didn’t make it via FedEx in time and I was arranging with my neighbor to pick it up and hide it on my porch in a plastic trash bag.
