Convertible bags - I'm really digging having a bag that works in multiple ways, so it looks great and is convenient for any outfit/activity. Food trucks - I travel for food and I want to eat all the things when I go somewhere new. When you don't have a rental car a great transportation system is important.

This philosophy works for shoes, furniture, and many other items. I won’t have to drive so much; maybe I won’t even have to get a rental car. Indeed, our neighbor, who buys the cheapest he can find, has been through three sets of tools in the last seven years. We look for true quality. Sure thing!

He worked hard and was gone a lot, but somehow, he always took us on a yearly vacation. They’re quality time spent together without the distractions of household responsibilities, work, school, and everything else life throws at us. Having our own car means we don’t have to rent one and we can bring a LOT from home.

You don’t have to stick exactly to the plan (a little flexibility makes for a better trip), but if you have your airfare, hotels, and rental cars arranged ahead of time, it makes things a little smoother. Of course, this works best if you know you will be returning. For me, this usually means food.
