Years ago, Mom introduced me to the idea of going to garage sales. People sell the darnedest things at their garage sales. Garage sales take time, you have to hit quite a few before you find the item you want or need. I look for the neighborhood sales, which are usually either in spring or fall.

I took at least three trunks full of “stuff” to Goodwill, I had a garage sale, and I sold things online. However, I wasn’t able to complete the job before moving day arrived, so some of our “stuff” we didn’t need came with us. Boy, did I declutter. Seriously, how does this happen?

We decided to re-label 10 empty wine bottles using a picture of an historical event for each decade of her life. I already had saved up a box full of wine bottles, in hopes of selling them at my next garage sale, so we didn’t have any cash outlay for those. 10 White matte photo paper No cost (had on hand).

To be closer to work and to the airport (for all those free airplane trips we got as a perk), we moved to a location about 10 minutes away. Our current neighborhood used to be in a quiet country like setting with little to no traffic. It doesn’t pay to re-decorate every few years. Roofs don’t last forever.
