I usually donate on Friday and Sunday mornings, but I was super busy in May and wasn’t able to get to the donation center. This past winter I cleaned out closets and drawers in my quest to minimize and downsize our stuff and donated everything to the thrift store, rather than hold on to it for the spring sale.

If you are in more of a hurry, find a thrift store instead. But, find one in a high end neighborhood, one where the store sorts through the donations to select only the best. In my area, garage sales run spring, summer and fall – usually starting on Friday morning and running through Saturday about noon.

While I like to shop at thrift stores, I have a hard time finding TALL length jeans for my 5’10 frame and I was in need of new jeans. My latest grocery routine is to place an online order for a Friday morning pickup. I started picking up my groceries instead of going into the store to shop last year, long before Covid.

Last week we had a big week at the store. NARTS had a conference in town, and our store was one of their stops in Dallas. We had hundreds of resale, consignment and thrift store owners come and see us on Friday. In order to make sure we had coverage I picked up a shift on my day off. And I am so glad I did!

I found it at a thrift store for a couple bucks. I know it would look better with my brown boots with heels, and I intend to wear the heels Friday to Nathan’s office party. On Friday, March 13th, the PA Governor shut down schools and closed non-essential businesses. Thankfully, my pragmatic side took over and we decided to replace our tires and take the next year or so to save up enough money to buy a vehicle with cash. Boy am I glad we don’t have that loan right now! March 2020 arrived.

Thankfully I do have a gift card from a Best Buy Black Friday deal that I can use to cover the cost! Sell Stuff I have a bin in our closet that I collect items we no longer need and when the bin is full, I either sell the items or deliver them to the thrift store. I then used that cash to buy coffee, milk, and eggs.
