Grocery Report and Menu Plan | in slightly more detail than usual
For a change this week, I divided my groceries into piles, and took pictures of each. A lot of you have asked for more detail about my shopping, so I’ll explain a little bit about why I bought the items in each picture.
My Aldi groceries cost $45.95 and my Weis groceries cost $39.03.
First up, the cold stuff. All of it is from Aldi except the Yoplait.

Poorest Time of Our Lives
We gathered about $10 with which we then went to the grocery store to buy food.
We began job hunting as soon as we got a car, and took the first jobs offered to us at Togo’s Eatery (a sandwich shop similar to Subway). The clerk told us the balance would be available immediately, so we went grocery shopping and put it on the debit card. The topic for this month’s PF Bloggers Group Writing Project, “Poorest Time of Your Life” which was decided about 5 months ago, comes at a somewhat inopportune time. When our group picked out these topics, whoever

Why I Don’t Shop At Walmart (and why I prefer Aldi)
This week a reader asked me why, if I am The Frugal Girl, I don’t shop for groceries at the store that has “Always Low Prices!” That’s certainly a fair question, given that Walmart has a reputation for being a money-saving place to shop.
and it’s not because of some strong commitment to ethical shopping, though I understand the downsides of their business model. 8221; as its slogan. I

$50 Grocery Challenge From AFullCup.com
I recently took the $50 grocery shopping challenge from AFullCup.com . Using the coupons and deals I found on AFullCup.com I was able to purchase over $95 worth of groceries for about $50. Then I went to the Target shopping list and checked the items I wanted. Publix Here is a picture of the items I purchased:
You can see that’s a lot of food for $50.

Grocery Spending-I bought some flour. a LOT of flour.
Because I spent $25 on baking items, I got a $5 coupon off of anything I buy on my next shopping trip. of my $400 grocery budget for November, and I am really, really happy with that, especially considering I bought a ton of flour.
Soo, my first week of shopping with only cash bore some pleasing results. The oddest thing happened after I posted my silly letter to Safeway on Wednesday. I hit “publish” and then went outside to get the newspaper.

Grocery Store Coupons – Tips to Maximize Your Savings
Collecting grocery store coupons is a regular occurrence in our household. Each Tuesday night, I sit down with the newspaper circulars, junk mail, and cash register receipts I’ve collected to examine the grocery store coupons we’ve managed to accumulate during the week. All of this work makes it easier for me to plan our weekly meals once the weekly grocery store ads come out.
I clip the new coupons we’ve found and go through my old coupons to figure out which ones are close to expiring. Using grocery store coupons alone, though, doesn’t save our household enough to
