My biggest financial regret is the amount of money we spent on restaurant meals from the time we were married and both working full time to when we had kids. He says we were busy building the house and our careers and it was money well spent because it freed up our time. Alan doesn’t share that regret.

Is there anything unique about frugal living in your area? My parents were married for 7 years before having kids, and during that time they both worked – my dad is an engineer, and my mom’s a nurse, so they made pretty good money! They had me, and then my mom decided to go back to school full-time and get a PhD.
