Years ago, Mom introduced me to the idea of going to garage sales. People sell the darnedest things at their garage sales. Garage sales take time, you have to hit quite a few before you find the item you want or need. If you are in more of a hurry, find a thrift store instead. I love a bargain.

Not only do I save a significant amount of money, but I also keep those still useable items out of the landfill. Just look at the many people scouring garage sales in the summer. Likewise, thrift stores are always full of people. Buying used isn’t just for those who want to save money. Electronics.

Here are some thoughts on ways to save money when you wrap this years gifts. My 5 year old grand daughter did it last year in my Grandma Rie’s Money Camp. This You Tube video shows you how. Shop garage sales and thrift stores and estate sales. Use paper drop cloth to wrap. Ask for gift boxes.

Many of the other items I needed like cloth diapers and clothes for the baby in bigger sizes I bought from garage sales. We Love to Spend Money on Our Children. Some people were very angry that these parents didn’t spend money on their kids. All those items got plenty of use as all three of my kids used them.
