It is time to normalize gifting thrifted items. Normalize Gifting Thrifted Items: Shop all year long! I yard sale and thrift all year long for my booth. Why am I not thrifting gifts for my friends and family too. I thrifted items for my dad because he loves old books and coins.

Just look at the many people scouring garage sales in the summer. Likewise, thrift stores are always full of people. Blender Fifteen years ago, I bought a blender at a garage sale for $3. Toaster Oven I bought a toaster oven at a garage sale for $2. Instead, I settled on a garage sale stand mixer I found for $10.

She also scarfed up any other gift wrap that looked usable, and she stored it carefully away for use the next year. Save any shopping bags you get through the year – especially the paper ones or ones that are unique in design, then use them at Christmas time. Shop garage sales and thrift stores and estate sales.

We bought a lot of our son’s onesies and other items (including a crib) at a consignment shop. Garage sales, estate sales, and moving sales are all great places to look for used furniture. Much of the time, baby clothes aren’t used harshly — especially newborn and early infant clothing. Don’t be! Go Frugal'

For many, the end of the year holiday shopping frenzy can override our saner, more thrifty selves. Spending our precious and all too limited time searching online and in stores. Sometimes, as we shop we see things we would like to own and decide to treat ourselves with a gift or two as well. I know I do. Winter clothes.

I remember when there was a shoe repair shop on almost every corner. You could take your radio to the radio and TV repair shop down the street, but most things you could probably fix yourself. He built his own garage. At garage sales, are you attracted to those still usable but slightly defective items that no one else wants?

You also know that picking a location to store something isn’t always logical and that things can get out of place over time, even after you have spent time and effort to optimally organize them! Store like things together. Store laundry supplies together – starch, detergent, spot remover, irons, fabric softener and etc.
