There weren’t any McDonald’s but there were Steak and Shake and White Castle’s here and there. Gasoline stations did not serve food, have coffee or provide bath rooms. Food/shopping. People cooked and ate at home. Lots of people had back yard gardens. Fast food was rare. Most people were thin.
