She is soon to be 92 years old and uses her position as the family matriarch to teach the rest of us to be grateful. When she saw that her great-grandchildren were not writing thank you notes for her gifts to them, she sent their parents a set of Thank you note cards with envelopes and postage! She is spunky and outspoken.

After 10 years raising kids, I decided to re-enter the workforce. Many of you may have followed a similar unplanned path to your job or career. Dr. John Krumboltz, Professor of Educational Psychology at Standford University studies how people choose careers. It didn’t. At the time we were substantially poor.

Are we raising a generation of kids addicted to their device screens? Just as our parents limited the amount of (TV) screen time we kids had, so today’s parents are striving to find ways to anchor their children in the real (as opposed to the virtual electronic) world. We loved watching TV and today’s kids do too.
