We bought a used pop-up several years ago and it was one of the best decisions for our family We absolutely adore camping, and we’d like to upgrade to a travel trailer. Choose Thrift First. While I love thrift stores, I can be easily swayed to run into Target, TJ Maxx, and/or Kohl’s when I feel like I need something.

I decided to be productive in those early morning hours and I updated our Family Balance Sheet and that’s when I realized why I was so antsy. I feel like I made a lot of trips to the thrift store to donate our stuff, but my house will tell you otherwise. This will always be a work in progress for my family.

Choose Thrift First. I have made a pact with myself that if I don’t already own something that I need, I will either: make do with what I have, find said item at a thrift store, borrow, or forget about it. We do budget for dining out and this year, we will need to be more diligent about staying within that budget.
