For small packages, find interesting magazine pages to use in wrapping. Use those as well. Do you have some leftover wall paper you won’t be using? Shop garage sales and thrift stores and estate sales. If you get newspapers, use newsprint with bright colored ribbon or bows. Be unusual. And, yes, save your paper.

Here is a short list of some of my favorite finds at garage, estate and thrift store sales. I let them sit in the sun for several days as well to let the sun disinfect them.

You can end up well ahead in the long run. Shop around at garage sales, thrift stores and online classifieds for furniture and other household items. And as an added bonus, leftovers make a great lunch the next day. Magazines and newspapers are all available online now. Save money by preparing your own meals.
