So I may go freezer spelunking again. Thursday I was out mid-afternoon with Sonia for a Christmas tea outing, so I wasn’t hungry for dinner (too many scones and tea sandwiches in my belly!), and Zoe was at a friend’s birthday party. Friday My fridge is a little bare but man, I hate going to the grocery store prior to a holiday.

As you may imagine, it was not a week of prize-winning kitchen endeavors. What I Spent It’s December, guys! I spent: $4 at Safeway $83 at Sam’s Club So, $87 for me. What We Ate As I mentioned, I’ve been in a bit of a fog! Let’s see if I can remember what we ate. Saturday Mannn, I don’t know.

Five Frugal Things | by the seat of my pants

I may never eat a cream-less chicken noodle soup again! I used the chicken broth to make a pot of soup I had some aging celery in my veggie drawer, so this was perfect! I used the broth I’d made on Sunday, all the celery, plus some carrots (and of course, some chicken and noodles). Did I add cream to my bowl?

But spring is an especially fun time to be on the trails because things change so quickly in March, April, and May. I love my trails year-round because even in the winter, there are interesting things to see. Sooo, I’m looking forward to that.

I may crack at some point this semester and hire someone to do my leaf removal this fall. I mowed my grass and used the leaf blower My house sits on about 2/3 acre, and luckily, my dear neighbor lets me borrow her riding mower when I need to mow. We shall see.

Want to save money? Let go of the need for matching

I was a teenager in the 90s, and while this may be true of other eras as well, I remember there being a LOT of matching sets, particularly when it came to home decor. How 90s is this photo? Well…MY SWEATER HAS DUCKS ON IT. Like…you’d have curtains, sheets, and a comforter all made from the same flowered fabric.
