My family loves watching movies and tv series together, and having regular game nights. We rented at first, but the rental situation in our new town was poor. Nine years later, the rent for similar homes in our neighborhood is double the cost of our mortgage! A freebie cabinet. Childhood joy.

This is the category where cell phone bills, movies, electronics, video games, and the internet would fall. Leave out cable television and satellite television.

When they got married, they bought a duplex so that the rent money from the tenant in the upstairs apartment would pay the mortgage. Alan and I, by choice, bought land in an area with low property taxes. Had we not fallen in love with the locale, it wouldn’t have mattered how low the taxes were, but fall in love we did.
