Whether you want to retire early or work well after the retirement age, you will need to have saved enough to enable you to continue to live in the manner to which you have become accustomed. If you have no retirement fund, your quality of life could well be affected. How many years will you be retired?

In a secular bull market, it is beneficial for the average, part time investor to buy and hold. Part time investors are often forced to liquidate their investments when they get fired from their job (use the money from their investments to put food on the table). Do not use buy and hold all of the time.
