We spend most of our time seeing friends and family, participating in our church activities or working on our property. I do a lot of our cooking from scratch which takes a lot of my time! As well as other “from scratch” things like my current main hobby of teaching myself how to spin yarn from our sheeps’ wool.

When I’d do things like take out student loans even though I had a full-tuition scholarship and a sweet part-time job in the university cafeteria. These are lessons that I try to impress upon my son because I don’t want him to make the same mistakes I made 15 years ago. Why Aren’t You Doing THIS?

Okay not the whole time, but we've been hit hard here. I started a new part time job on 2/28. My son is recovering and doing well. A job I thought for sure I didn't get, but got a call a few days before I started asking if I was still interested, and I was! I'm so not a morning person.

We have a 5 year old son and are in the process of adopting our 2 year old and 4 month old foster sons, making us parents of 3 boys! My husband works as an architect and I teach art part time at my son’s school. We save and try to manage our finances, but do so with an openness to give money away as well.

Needless to say, our relationship suffered, his health suffered and now he has a list of regrets about not being the father, husband, son, brother and friend he feels he should have been. We eventually alleviated the situation when I retrained for a high paying career and went to work full time (after those 10 years at home with the kids).
