Recycling is great for the environment and we should all be doing it (in spite of my title), but reusing is even better. When you can reuse or re-purpose an item, you are not only saving it from the landfills, but you are also saving the expense and energy which would have been expended when you recycle.

Below is a list of things I (or hubby) have personally saved and reused. Shopping bags are reused as carry alls for gifts and travel needs. Decorated bags (such as those you put gifts in) are just reused for gift giving. Mesh bags from Popsicle sticks hold bulbs we dig up and re-plant later to keep them dry until time to plant.

Even recycling has its environmental costs. It’s always better to reuse than recycle! Just keep in mind that some jars will be too big for most succulent plants! Instead of spending $10 on a decorative storage jar at Hobby Lobby or Target, you can upcycle and make one at a fraction of the price. Hanging Lanterns.

Do they recycle? Do they use recycled products? Eat a plant based diet. Instead, eat a plant based diet which is full of nutrients, anti-oxidants and is healthier for you and mother nature. Recycle, recycle, recycle. Also, be sure to buy recycled products like toilet paper. Dress eco-friendly.
