If you are in more of a hurry, find a thrift store instead. But, find one in a high end neighborhood, one where the store sorts through the donations to select only the best. Garage sales and thrift stores are great places to find books and DVDs. Treasures which the grown kids don’t want or need!

We do put up decorations (ones I buy at garage sales or thrift stores and reuse each year). Use pumpkins at your wedding as flower baskets. No kids = no money on candy = no candy wrappers in the landfill. No kids = no parties or haunted houses = money saved. Tip # 2 Recycle/reuse costumes.
