Penned by Seals, Kathy White and Bill Whyte , “Deeper Shade of Blue-Collar” was written as an ode to all the blue-collar workers. Seals’ grandfather was a Kentucky sharecropper and coal miner and his grandma worked on the farm. In 2002 Seals formed Hot Apple Pie (DreamWorks). His mother cleaned houses for a living.
