We planned our purchase in the heady days just prior to the recession of 2008/2009. My differing perspectives on vacation rental finances. If we had put that quarter of a million dollars into a tax exempt bond fund at the time, it would have earned around 4% in yearly income, or around $8000 – every year for the past 10 years.
