I have been since April 7, 2010. Hubby continued to work hard around the estate (ok, I’m being a bit grandiose – but you could call 6 acres an estate – right?) Our alternate income streams include an inherited IRA, real estate rental income and dividends/interest from investments. I’m retired!

If you have money to invest, should you put it to work when stock prices are rising every day, or should you wait until the market goes down? I retired in 2010 (yeah!). In 2010 and 2011 I did get a lot of it re-invested, even though it was rising the whole time. annually — and that’s quite ordinary.”. My Predicament.

Last week, I was dithering about whether to pay down my second mortgage early, or start working on my student loan. I was questioning whether, with the sad state of the real estate market, throwing money at my second mortgage was really the intelligent thing to do, since I don't know whether I'll ever get that money back (I'm thinking not).

According to the July 15, 2010 Back to School Survey from the National Retail Federation, the average family spent around $600 per child for back to school needs, split between clothing (37%); electronics (30%); shoes (17%) and school supplies (16%). Partake in federal work-study programs. Buy don’t rent.
